Today’s consumer when looking at designs and trends will have a multitude of options and of course opinions to wade through as they are making their decisions on how they should design and outfit their new home.

Some of our most popular home designs that we have in our portfolio whether a ranch or 2 story home incorporate an open concept great room. This open area combines the kitchen, living room and dinette all without separation so family and guests are able to converse and interact all in the same space. Also popular are drop zones which are designed off the garage entry but set away and out of sight from the main living area. This part of the house allows the homeowner to have a place to put the clutter of daily living such as mail and keys along with a place to charge cell phones but remain outside of view. Also popular are tiled showers in the master bath and eliminating the whirlpool or tub. In doing so customers are then utilizing the money that would have been spent on these fixtures to add a rain shower head or body sprays or combination to make that shower more a spa like experience. Another important area has been the laundry, which we are designing larger and adding built in sinks, folding tables and built in raised pedestals for the front loading washer and dryers making access easier and adding a custom look.

Particularly popular is the Craftsman styled home with its attention to exterior details, styled columns and stonework.  This style of home focuses on curb appeal with shake and brackets in the gables, abundant window details, larger front foyer entry columns and arches along with a beautiful front entry wood door and leaded glass accents which really hit the mark. The Liberty II

Lastly a trend we are seeing is towards a more reasonably sized home. Not to say that larger homes are out of style but homes that are 1650 to 2400 square feet have appeal to many with their lower overall costs and ease of maintenance. A higher percentage of our customers are using the funds that they would have spent on a larger square footage home and then using these funds to finish off the interior spaces with higher end materials and more creature comforts.
